Practical Wellness Tips

As someone with a hypersensitive nervous system, I’ve had to develop practices over the years to protect my energy and keep myself balanced, calm, and clear in stressful situations.

Whether you're a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) like me — or just struggling with the intensity of modern life, here are some helpful tips that I’ve gathered to help you self-regulate and reclaim your peace when triggered or overwhelmed.

Herbs & Supplements

Ashwagandha & Adaptogens
Adaptogens like Ashwagandha and Reishi mushroom help the body manage stress. If you’re feeling drained, an herbalist consultation might be a great place to start.
Herb Tip: Palo Santo and Sage can be used to cleanse the energy in your home.

Check out Sacred Science and Kauai Farmacy for more herbal wisdom.

Essential Oils

I enjoy Young Living and dōTERRA oils. Some of my go-to blends include Adaptiv, Serenity, and Balance to calm and center myself. If you’re on a budget, look for Primavera or essential oils from your local herbalist — they’re pure and affordable.

Aromatherapy is a great way to raise your energetic frequency immediately.

Rescue Remedy & Bach Flower Remedies

When emotions feel overwhelming, I turn to Rescue Remedy, a calming blend of Bach Flower remedies. It's especially helpful for stress, grief, and anxiety.

Consult a naturopath or herbalist to find what’s right for you.

Grounding & Nature

Earthing
Grounding, or walking barefoot on the earth, is one of the easiest ways to restore balance. Try 10 minutes outside each day—whether in your backyard or at a local park.

Check out The Earthing Movie for more on how this simple practice works wonders.

Movement & Exercise

Cardio, Yoga, & Dance
Moving your body is essential for releasing built-up energy and stress. Whether it’s running, yoga, or simply dancing, movement is the most natural way to recalibrate. I personally love running in nature and practicing yoga (especially Sun Salutations!)

If yoga speaks to you, try exploring Hatha, Bikram, or Kundalini to ground and raise your vibration.

Sleep & Relaxation

Turning Off Screens
I’ve learned that sleep is sacred, and tech is the enemy. I set my phone on “Do Not Disturb” at night and do my best to put it away at least two hours before bed.

If you’re struggling to sleep, a sleep mask or hot water bottle can help relax your body.

Naps
When you feel depleted, there’s nothing better than a quick power nap. Just 30 minutes can reset your whole mood.

Nourishment & Digestion

Probiotics
Taking probiotics first thing in the morning helps maintain digestive health, which directly affects your mood and energy levels.

I use Primal Defense when I’m in the U.S. and Fairment in Germany.

Protein-Rich Snacks
When you’re feeling sluggish between meals, reach for organic hard-boiled eggs, nuts, or chia pudding to stabilize your blood sugar and keep your energy up.

Magnesium
Magnesium is amazing for calming the nervous system and promoting deep, restful sleep. It also helps with digestion! Consult your doctor for the right dosage.

Digital Detox Tips

Too much screen time can overload your nervous system and lower your vibration. Here’s what’s worked for me. Check my Digital Detox Coaching to learn more.

Turn Off Notifications: Only check your phone when you want to. Silence non-essential notifications, especially for social media and news apps.

Remove Addictive Apps: Consider removing apps like Instagram from your phone and using them on your laptop instead. This minimizes the temptation to check constantly.

Use Airplane Mode: At night, put your phone in Airplane Mode to disconnect before sleep.

Schedule Tech-Free Days: Inspired by tech executive Tiffany Schlain’s 24/6 philosophy, I regularly turn off my phone on Sundays (or weekends) to reclaim my energy.

Mindset Tools

Meditation & Affirmations

Start with simple meditation practices to calm your mind. Books like Bliss More by Light Watkins and Vibrate Higher Daily by Lalah Delia are amazing guides to getting started.

Affirmations like “All of life comes to me with ease and joy and glory” or “I anticipate a miraculous outcome” can help shift your mindset instantly.

Prayer
The Serenity Prayer is a timeless tool for finding peace in the midst of chaos:

“God/Universe, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

Healing Frequencies & Music

Create your ideal vibe with music that resonates at healing frequencies. I have playlists for every mood (high and low-vibe) on Spotify. You can also check out recommended sound artists here.

Crystals

Crystals not only look beautiful, but are powerful energy healers too. I love working crystals to raise the vibration of my home or work space.

Tip: Rinse them in fresh water, sage & charge them under the full moon for full potency!

Less Caffeine

I love a good coffee, but too much or drinking it after 1pm interferes with my sleep. Limiting caffeine to one morning cup and a decaf afterward helps me stay balanced and sleep deeply.

Earplugs & Noise-Canceling Tools

If you’re sensitive to noise like me, Mack’s silicone earplugs are my go-to for blocking out the world when it’s time to sleep.

This Sleep Frequency playlist on Spotify also helps me block out noise and drift into dreamland.

Reclaim Your Vibe, Reclaim Your Peace

These practices have been key for me in raising my energy and staying grounded in a fast-paced world. It’s all about finding what works for you—so you can feel balanced, clear, and high-vibe.

I’d love to hear what resonates with you and let’s continue to curate your vibe!
